• Position Summary
• The Department of Medical Education is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to lead a high functioning and engaged team supporting medical student programs (Undergraduate Medical Education, UME) at Maine Medical Center. The right person for this role will have experience in program and project management, be comfortable with process improvement tools and strategies and be a skilled people manager. As the lead for the UME division of the department, this person will partner with a wide range of stakeholders including physician leaders, staff, senior leaders at partner institutions and other roles across MaineHealth. Polished communication skills, flexibility and agility will help the person in this role succeed. If you are self-driven and energized by innovation and fast-paced work, come join our team!
• Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
• Education: Bachelor’s degree required; minimum of 5 years progressive responsibility in managerial or project management work, preferably in education or health care administration.
• License/Certifications: N/A
• Experience: See “Education”
• Knowledge of medical education or simulation technology/theory preferred.
• Experience with high-level managerial and organizational duties, employee supervision, support and development preferred.
• Experience in developing and managing budgets.
• Experience performing at a high level of independence, with strong analytic and problem solving skills, and ability to facilitate resolution of issues.
• Experience working collaboratively as a member of a team.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and web-based applications.
